Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa and his agent have supposedly informed the Reds of the Italian's 'clear desire' for the upcoming season.
The former Juventus attacker had a first year to forget at Anfield following his cheap arrival from Serie A, even if he did end the campaign with a Premier League winners' medal around his neck.
A summer sale was a distinct possibility, but Chiesa remains under Arne Slot's wing and was one of the Dutchman's heroes in their recent 4-2 victory over Bournemouth in this year's top-flight opener.
After Liverpool blew a 2-0 lead in the second half, Chiesa came off the bench to restore the holders' advantage with a slick volley into the bottom corner, before fellow attacker Mohamed Salah erased any doubt.
The Egyptian is one of the players currently blocking Chiesa's route to the first XI, but the Reds have lost Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Ben Doak this summer, opening up more opportunities for the Euro 2020 champion.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chiesa and his agent have now formally informed Liverpool of his 'clear desire' to stay at the club for the new season, shortly after the 27-year-old made the same admission publicly.
Following Friday's victory over Bournemouth, Chiesa affirmed that he wanted to stay and make a name for himselfon Merseyside, and Liverpool are also said to have labelled him 'unsellable'following recent events.
While Chiesa was open to exploring an exit in June and July, having been omitted from Slot's squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, the exit of Diaz to Bayern Munich and his bedlam-inducing Bournemouth goal have opened up a 'new chapter' for the Italy international.
The winger's strike on Friday was just his third from 15 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, while he has also provided two assists since signing for an initial £10m in the summer of 2024.
Chiesa stays, but could any other players leave Liverpool before transfer deadline?
Harvey Elliott of Liverpool celebrates scoring on August 4, 2025
For all of Liverpool's record-breaking cash-splashing in the summer window, Slot's attack is just one or two injuries away from appearing incredibly thin on the ground, and Chiesa leaving now would be nonsensical.
However, even after the exits of Doak and Diaz and the tragic death of Jota, Liverpool could still bank a sizeable fee through one more offensive sale, as Harvey Elliott's future is not set in stone whatsoever.
The 22-year-old did not make it off the bench on Friday night, although Liverpool are yet to receive a firm loan or permanent proposal for the Englishman, who is in the final two years of his contract at Anfield.
Further back, third-choice left-back Kostas Tsimikas - who was omitted entirely against Bournemouth - is surplus to requirements and should have chances to leave in the coming weeks, as might the injury-plagued defensive duo of Calvin Ramsay and Rhys Williams.
Liverpool's next fixture comes away to Newcastle United on Monday night, shortly before the Reds host last season's runners-up Arsenal on August 31.
