West Ham are close to securing the season long loan of Edson Alvarez to Fenerbache, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

As it was disclosed at the end of last season, Alvarez was highly likely to depart east London in some capacity this summer, with the midfielder clearly not part of the plans under Graham Potter.

Although a sale of the Mexico captain has not been achieved as yet, Ex has reported that the deal will see a loan fee for the season with wages covered by the Turkish club.

Following Ex’s report on The West Ham Way Podcast, with it disclosed that the player was set for loan move this summer, our insider has provided further information with a move from the club nearing.

“The move for Edson Alvarez on a loan deal to Fenerbache is getting close to completion,” stated Ex. “The loan deal should contain an option/obligation to buy as well as a loan fee and wages covered by the Turkish side.

“His departure should then see West Ham make a move for a midfielder which is likely to be Ngal’ayel Mukau of Lille but we will update when this is confirmed because there are other targets.”
