"Here we go" - Leeds United agree £17.25m transfer, medical in next 24hrs: Fabrizio Romano

Leeds United are off to a winning start back in the Premier League and are pressing on with attacking recruitment, agreeing to sign Noah Okafor from AC Milan on a permanent deal.

United’s home clash with Everton gave Daniel Farke and his side a great opportunity to demonstrate their ability to mix it wit established Premier League sides, and they certainly passed that test with a thoroughly deserved 1-0 victory.

What was noticeable was that for all of Leeds’ control of large periods of the game, they didn’t call Jordan Pickford into action too often, and that suggests attacking additions may be required soon.

Leeds United agree to sign Noah Okafor from AC Milan, medical on Wednesday

Farke admitted post-match that he was content with how his current squad is able to cope with the current task at hand in August, but that he insists new forward signings are a must.

Enter Noah Okafor – Leeds’ interest in the Swiss international from AC Milan has intensified over the recent weekend to the point where they have now reached a full agreement.

Fabrizio Romano reveals that all parties have come to an agreement over the 25-year-old’s transfer to Elland Road for a reported €20million (£17.25million) package:

🚨🟡🔵 Noah Okafor to Leeds United, here we go! Deal in place as revealed last night for fee over €20m to AC Milan.

Okafor set to sign four year contract with option for further season, ready for PL move after Daniel Farke’s calls.

Importantly, a medical is booked within the next 24 hours as Okafor is scheduled to fly over to the UK to complete formalities of a deal.

Noah Okafor an ideal signing for what we saw from Leeds United last night

Willy Gnonto was electric in the first half for Leeds, but in terms of adding more to this attack, someone like Okafor could be ideal.

His pace and trickery to go on the inside or outside would be a great complement to Gabriel Gudmundsson, who looked to underlap quite often on the inside.

Okafor does have injury issues to be worried about, missing 11 or more games in every season he’s played since 19/20 – but the same was said about Manor Solomon too, so being hasty to judge a player’s record isn’t totally wise.
