Derby County target emotional homecoming and second Liverpool transfer for 'big talent'

Kaide Gordon scored Norwich City's third against the Tigers at Carrow Road

Kaide Gordon spent time on loan at Norwich last season and is wanted by Derby County.

Derby County have been linked with a move to bring back Kaide Gordon to Pride Park on loan from Premier League champions Liverpool.

Gordon is being tippedto help his development after loan spells with Norwich and Portsmouth last term.

and Swansea are both said to be eager to secure his signature, but Gordon's ties to the city may well give the Rams the edge.

Gordon spent seven years at Derby's academy, progressing through the ranks before being given his big break by Wayne Rooney in a 4-0 win over Birmingham in 2020.

He then moved to Liverpool for a fee that was reported to be £1m rising to £3m if various clauses were met.

Gordon made his Reds bow in a 3-0 win over Norwich City in the Carabao Cup and scored his first goal in an FA Cup win over Shrewsbury.

Sky Sports deal

Sky has slashed the price of its bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

After his debut, then Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said: "He’s good. A lot of things to improve, a lot of things to settle, a lot of things to learn, but there are a lot of things already there.

"We are really happy to have him around, and we will treat him carefully. He is a big talent."

At that point, Gordon looked to be heading for the big-time but an injuries then kept him sidelined for 17 months.

After last season's loans, Liverpool are eager for him to get regular minutes. Derby, meanwhile, are in the market for wingers after losing Corey Blackett-Taylor to injury for the next five weeks.

They have also been linked with a move for Koki Saito of Lommel, with the Rams said to have matched the Belgian club's valuation over the weekend.

Should Gordon complete the move, he will join Liverpool team-mate Owen Beck, who penned a deal on loan from the Reds earlier this summer. He will also know Bobby Clark, who signed in the summer from RB Salzburg and was also previously at Anfield.

Would Gordon be a good signing?
