Simon Jordan has refused to read much into the win Leeds United earned against Everton on Monday night. The three points got the Whites off to a brilliant start to the Premier League campaign, but the former Crystal Palace chairman is not impressed.
Daniel Farke’s men announced their return to Premier League football in style in front of the home fans. They produced a dominating performance to beat a lacklustre Everton side at Elland Road and provided a glimpse of what to expect from them for the rest of the 2025/26 season.

Simon Jordan plays down the significance of the Leeds United win
Leeds dominated Everton at Elland Road and were the deserving winners of the three points.
With Leeds and Sunderland winning their first games of the Premier League campaign, there is hope that promoted teams will give a better account of themselves this season.
However, Jordan played down any suggestion of Leeds having a better chance of survival after what they displayed against Everton on Monday night.
He stressed that Everton are not a team against whom one can judge Leeds, as David Moyes’ side are pretty poor.
Jordan feels that few conclusions can be drawn from Leeds’ win, and while it was good for them to get a win on the board early, it’s not an indication of how they will perform overall this season.
“Everton are not a great side, and that was shown last night”, Jordan said on talkSPORT.
“I don’t think you can take anything from it.
“It’s brilliant to get out and get three points on the board as early as they possibly can, but I don’t think it’s an indicator of anything.
“The only thing you can hope for is that it builds momentum.”
Leeds would want to prove them wrong
A good start to the Premier League campaign was essential to breed confidence, and that is exactly what Leeds will take out of the win on Monday night.
Tougher tests await the team in the coming weeks, and there will be moments in the season when the Whites will find it hard to stay afloat.
However, Leeds proved against Everton that they will not be pushovers, and more help is set to arrive from the transfer market in the coming days.
The Whites hope to make Jordan eat his words by the end of the season by ensuring their survival in the Premier League.
