Manager in fighting mood over Everton target – Not going to make transfer easy

FC Midtjylland head coach Thomas Thomasberg has insisted he has no intention of selling star man Franculino to Everton or any other suitors at the end of the window.

[Ekstra Bladet cover comments](https://ekstrabladet.dk/) from the Midtjylland head coach today in which he insists he wants to keep hold of the forward this summer.

Franculino was in fine form over the weekend once again as he bagged his seventh goal of the season to secure to three points for his side in a tough away match Vejle Boldklub.

He has been ‘unruly’ in the first the five Superliga matches of the season and that’s earned hi attention from other clubs.

Several have already been linked with a move, with Bologna very serious at the beginning of the month and Everton also named among the interested clubs.

Their interest may have increased after his goalscoring start to the season, and the club are expecting ‘many clubs’ to be calling in the final 14 days of the transfer window.

Everton might be one of them, particularly after their shot shy start to the season in the 1-0 defeat to Leeds United. Thomasberg, though, has no intention of letting his forward go if he has a choice.

_“We are not going to sell any of our best strikers. I think that is the same message that you will get no matter who you ask,”_ he said.

_“Everyone knows what we are dealing with. I also do not know if he can get many more suitors than he already has. I only hear from you (the media) that he has a lot of suitors. I’m not spending that much money on it. I’m spending a lot of money on making sure we can make him function as well as possible._

_“There will be rumours, and there are a lot of them._  _I just want to make sure that we close the window so that we know what we’re dealing with – instead of speculating about whether it’s one or the other who is leaving.”_
