Atalanta beginning to raise white flag on €40-50m deals with Fulham and Crystal Palace

Last week, Corriere Bergamo reported Atalanta and Fulham had a preliminary agreement regarding a move for Rodrigo Muniz.

The transfer was taking time due to the London club’s hesitation in meeting the wage demands of Inter Milan’s Mehdi Taremi, who was seen as a replacement for the Brazilian.

Now, it appears Muniz’s transfer to Atalanta is off and the Bergamo club are facing problems in a move for Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta as well.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports Fulham are no longer fully open to selling the 24-year-old, with less than two weeks to go for the transfer window to slam shut.

Marco Silva side’s asking price of over €40m is considered to be extremely high for Atalanta.

Crystal Palace want over €50m for Mateta and even though talks have been held for the Frenchman, the Eagles haven’t budged from their price tag.

Due to the stance of both Fulham and Crystal Palace, Atalanta are now considering Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic as an alternative.

The Montenegrin is valued at only around €30m and this is proving to be tempting for La Dea.
