Southampton's Will Still believes this is 'beneficial for everyone' amid Everton interest in Tyler Dibling

Southampton have made a pretty good start to life back in the Championship, as they have four points from their opening two games.

While Will Still and his squad may have been hopeful they could have secured all the points available to them, they have not been at their best, and managing to secure results while clearly having more is an encouraging sign for fans.

Southampton fans and Will Still just want the summer transfer window to come to a close, to know who they have available for the season ahead.

A lot of speculation has been around the futures of Mateus Fernandes and Tyler Dibling, the latter is one David Moyes has spoken about recently as Everton chase his signature.

The Saints have been linked to several players who could replace the English starlet, including Leo Scienza, but Will Still has given an update on the future of the winger.

Will Still wants what is best for Tyler Dibling and Southampton

Tyler Dibling came off the bench for Southampton in their draw against Ipswich Town at the weekend in the Championship, helping demonstrate to fans that he is happy to remain at the club should a move to the Premier League not transpire.

Will Still has been incredibly open regarding the teenager’s return to training with the team and believes that it is the best-case scenario for all parties, as he spoke about it with the Southern Daily Echo.

He said: “It’s not up to me to tell him what’s best for his career and his life.

“The one thing that is beneficial for everyone is that he trains, that he plays, that he’s involved.

“Like I said to him, if that’s what he wants, then clubs will look at it and say, ‘He’s being professional, he’s playing, he’s getting involved, and he’s doing the job right’.

“If he does well, then the interest will only grow for him, and we want good players on the pitch.

“I think it’s just beneficial for everyone that we do things in the right way and that we respect the club, the players, and everyone involved.”

Everton’s view on acquiring Tyler Dibling

The Toffees have been linked to the England starlet all summer and had been given a ‘counter offer’ in order to sign the Southampton winger.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo, it is now believed that Everton will now explore other options for that target position.

Everton believe that Dibling will remain at Southampton for the upcoming season; however, they have not ruled out moving back in for the teenager.
