Arsenal enter the 2025–26 campaign with huge expectations on their shoulders after coming so close to glory last year. Mikel Arteta’s men battled their way to the UCL semi-finals and secured a third straight runner-up finish in the PL.
The Spaniard has certainly built a squad that can go toe-to-toe with Europe’s elite. Although, the fans remain desperate to see their side end the wait for silverware. Their last major trophy was the 2020 FA Cup triumph.
This summer has already brought fresh talent through the doors. Regardless, they are still looking for that one player who can change a game in a split second, most importantly out wide.
Why Real Madrid star fits the bill for Arsenal
The Gunners had shown interest in another Crystal Palace attacker, Eberechi Eze, but it looks like the Eze is likely headed to Tottenham. Eze has all the flair and build to be the most creative player on a field. Although, he is not an out and out winger. This is where Rodrygo comes in to the scene.
Since signing in 2019, the winger has been a definite success story at Real Madrid. He picked up trophies and naming himself against some of the best in football. Rodrygo has space and uses his speed to turn and quickly get into an attacking space.
Despite being such a classy player, Rodrygo has not had much of a playing time under the new Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso. That has fueled rumours of an exit from the club. If anyone would know the right time to strike this chance, it would be Arsenal. Price tag would certainly not be cheap. But, the North London side might have a chance to bring in the talented winger.
