Jack Grealish and Leeds United fans continued their hostilities on Monday evening, as Everton crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Elland Road.
Grealish was a second-half substitute for the Blues but could not stop Daniel Farke’s side from picking up all three points in West Yorkshire.
There is no love lost between Leeds fans and Grealish, a rivalry which dates back to his time at Aston Villa, when the two sides were battling for Championship promotion.
The Whites got the best of the former Manchester City man this time, though, both on and off the pitch, as Leeds started the Premier League season perfectly.

Grealish reaction to Leeds fans emerges
Grealish was expected to get a hostile reaction from the Leeds crowd, as he returned to LS11 after not meeting the Whites for two years.

Oliver Holt revealed in the print edition of the Daily Mail (19 August, page 66) that Grealish engaged in friendly exchanges with the Peacocks supporters as he did his warm-up.
He was still audibly booed as he entered the pitch at Elland Road, though, despite enjoying a bit of banter with the home crowd.
Leeds get the last laugh over Grealish this time
Grealish has largely gotten the better of the Whites, facing them nine times before Monday evening’s encounter.
The ex-Villa man had won four times, drawn three and lost twice against the Peacocks, but now another loss will be added to that record.
He had notched one goal and four assists against Leeds, but failed to add to that tally in the latest meeting.
Grealish’s contributions vs Leeds:
Assisted home and away in the 2017/18 season
Goal in a 7-0 win for City in December 2021
Two assists for City in a December 2023 clash
Leeds supporters will have enjoyed getting one over on Grealish and his new club, given the hostilities between them previously.
However, the focus will be on building on the result rather than any personal grievances that they may have with Grealish.
The ultimate last laugh would be if they stay in the top-flight at the end of the campaign, and it will be even sweeter if the Blues go down with the 28-year-old as a part of their squad.
Whether that is a realistic possibility remains to be seen, but it would be a huge satisfaction for Whites supporters if it did.
