Chelsea to get their way after rejecting Bayern Munich loan move for Christopher Nkunku - journalist

Chelsea have been pretty clear on their stance on Christopher Nkunku in attempts to part ways with the Frenchman during this summer transfer window.

The Blues are hoping for a permanent sale of Nkunku this summer, after two seasons where injuries and poor performances have seen him not make the desired impact at Stamford Bridge.

Despite Nkunku impressing Enzo Maresca during the Club World Cup, it seems the club are prepared to go in another direction when it comes to their attacking options for the 2025/26 campaign.

Bayern Munich have registered interest in Nkunku, however so far they have only offered a deal on the terms of a loan, something the Blues are not intrigued by.

Bayern Munich to return with permanent offer for Christopher Nkunku

It has also been stated that Nkunku is not open to a loan move, and would prefer to get his career back on track with a permanent move.

Journalist Marc Mechenoua has claimed that after denying that request, Bayern are now expected to return with a transfer offer, while Inter Milan and Newcastle have reignited their interest.

He said: “After having made a loan request for Christopher Nkunku, rejected by Chelsea, Bayern Munich will come back with a transfer offer. Inter Milan and Newcastle have also re-entered the race. Two projects that interest the Frenchman.”

The Blues have already made a plethora of new signings in the attacking areas this summer, and if reports are to be believed are not done yet.

Chelsea want Nkunku sale to open door to new signings

The Blues are hoping for the Frenchman to move on in order for them to put the finishing touches on their summer transfer window.

Xavi Simons has been strongly linked with Chelsea, and agreed personal terms a long time in advance of a potential deal.

However, it has been said the deal cannot be completed until more player sales are made, and given they play in similar positions the Nkunku one is one that makes sense that they would like him to leave first.

Alejandro Garnacho has also strongly been linked with a switch to Chelsea, however again they are waiting for exits before pushing forward with that deal.
