‘He was a great promise’–Argentine media believe Alejandro Garnacho World Cup dream in danger

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has left Alejandro Garnacho out of his plans for Old Trafford revival.

The Argentina international needs to find a new club, which he hasn’t done yet, if he wants to feature regularly this season. TyC Sports, one of the biggest media companies in Argentina, have a feature on the Manchester United player and how his row at club level could have a serious impact.

Garnacho hasn’t made an appearance since the Red Devils’ Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in May. He hasn’t been training with Manchester United’s first team since the end of last season.

Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni left him out of the squad for the last two international breaks and omitted the 21-year-old from the pre-selection list for September’s fixtures.

The attacker wants to join Chelsea and has already agreed personal terms with them. Manchester United haven’t agreed a deal with the Blues, though.

It’s claimed his desire to move to Chelsea is firm and he’s said to have informed Manchester United that he’s ready to spend the next six to 12 months without playing if he’s not sold to the Blues.

Ángel Di María retired from international football after the 2024 Copa América. Garnacho was expected to take the former Real Madrid man’s place in the national team.

That hasn’t happened.

TyC Sports state: ‘After his participation in the Copa América, andwith Ángel Di María’s retirement from the Argentine national team, his place in the coach’s mind seemed assured. He was a great promise, but so far he hasn’t been able to prove it. His stagnant current form poses a major threat to fulfilling one of his greatest dreams: playing in the next World Cup.’
