Man United are weighing up an approach for Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Orgullobiri.com claim that the Red Devils have “identified” the Frenchman as a potential target before the transfer window closes.
The Manchester club have been pursuing Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, but they cooled their interest after learning that the 21-year-old is not for sale this summer.

Alternatives have been sought, with the likes of Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand, Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton having all been linked.
However, it appears Agoume is also under consideration to strengthen the midfield ahead of the transfer deadline.
Agoume will be much cheaper than Baleba
Like all professional players in Spain, the 23-year-old does have a release clause in his contract, and Orgullobiri report that the buyout fee is €40m (£34.6m).
With it being suggested that Brighton wanted close to £115m for Baleba, Agoume is available for less than a third of the price.
Sevilla are not expected to sell him for below his clause as it is believed they owe 10% of any sale to his previous club Inter Milan.
Man United have looked at the midfielder before
This is not the first time that Agoume’s name has been mentioned in recent weeks. Back in June, it was claimed that Ruben Amorim’s side, Arsenal and Tottenham were all circling the former France Under-21 international.
Since then, Arsenal have signed two holding midfielders so they are unlikely to be still interested in Agoume, while Spurs are currently focused on recruiting Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
From the looks of things, it seems the Red Devils will have a clear run to buy the player if they firm up their interest over the next couple of weeks.
