Manchester City have made their plans with Claudio Echeverri clear, as his move to Bayer Leverkusen won’t include any kind of clause.
That’s [according to Sky Germany](https://x.com/SkySportDE/status/1957771527853658265) and [Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/leverkusen-vor-leihe-von-mancitys-echeverri-1139260/artikel#twfeed), who both cover the Argentine’s imminent move to the Germany club today.
Sky Germany kick things off, reporting that Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City have now reached a full agreement over the 19-year-old. Leverkusen have already reached a verbal agreement with the player.
The deal will be for a one-year loan with no option to buy him from Manchester City permanently. A medical has been planned for shortly after the final formalities have been done between the two clubs. The deal is expected to close this week.
Kicker, meanwhile, report that Leverkusen are close to signing the creative force they’ve wanted to add al summer. They say Echeverri will join on loan from Manchester City.
He’s considered the ideal candidate to replace Florian Wirtz, and the deal will be for a season-long loan only. Manchester City are unlikely to include a purchase option, having already ruled it out in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund.
That would indicate he is a firm part of their future plans, and the hope is that he can get regular playing time and develop on loan in Germany this season.
