Sources: Jadon Sancho ready to force Man Utd into summer exit U-turn

Manchester United are concerned that they may be forced into allowing Jadon Sancho to seal a last-minute loan move after the Old Trafford outcast has not been convinced to complete a permanent departure as the transfer deadline edges closer, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Although Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim has succeeded in offloading the out-of-favour Marcus Rashford since the summer window opened for business, with the academy graduate's initial temporary switch to Barcelona including a £26million option to buy, there remains determination to sanction further exits.

Sancho has been deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester United and, with him being on a contract which allows him to pocket up to £350,000-per-week when bonuses are triggered, influential figures have been showing desperation to get him off their books before September 1.

Amorim Concerned Sancho Will Block Switch

Manchester United are becoming increasingly fearful that Sancho will choose to run down his contract instead of agreeing to leave on a permanent basis, according to GMS sources, which will have a negative impact on their ability to splash the cash in the final stages of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been putting the winger under pressure to make a decision over his future after he rejected the opportunity to join Serie A giants Roma earlier this week, but there are worries behind the scenes that he will continue snubbing interest despite having no route into Amorim's plans.

GMS sources have been informed that Manchester United are concerned that they will be left with little choice but to make a major U-turn and entertain loan offers for Sancho, who won the UEFA Conference League during a spell with Chelsea during the 2024/25 campaign, before allowing him to leave as a free agent next year.

Jadon Sancho's statistics for Chelsea this season

Although the Red Devils forked out £73million to land the England international from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021, he has struggled to work his way into the forefront of their plans and Amorim has made it clear that he will not be handed game time if he remains at Old Trafford beyond the deadline.

Manchester United are eager to find a solution in the coming days, GMS sources have learned, but Sancho's resistance to joining Roma has resulted in key decision-makers believing they may have to allow him to embark on a fresh challenge on a temporary basis and miss out on securing a lucrative fee.

Red Devils Do Not Want Sancho Around Club

GMS sources have been told that Manchester United are not entertaining the possibility of allowing Sancho to train with their under-23 squad or be around the club due to their desire for him to leave, but there are worries that he believes he will maximise his chances of getting a better move if he becomes a free agent ahead of next term.

The 25-year-old, who was described as 'special' by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca during his spell at Stamford Bridge, is carefully assessing his options and is not rushing into pinpointing an ideal destination even though there is a clear lack of game time on offer in his current surroundings.

Sancho will look at January as an opportunity to clearly define where he wants to end up in the long-term if he is still at Manchester United beyond September 1, GMS sources understand, but Amorim and members of the hierarchy would still prefer to sanction a permanent exit if his head is turned.

Although GMS sources recently revealed that the wide-man is expecting to gain further clarity on whether Borussia Dortmund are prepared to hand him a route back to Signal Iduna Park, the Red Devils are aware that they are running out of time to get him off the wage bill and use any funds to dip into the market for further reinforcements.
