Sporting Club de Portugal plan to restart negotiations with Nottingham Forest for Jota Silva and hopefully get the drawn-out transfer negotiations done with.
That’s according to [O Jogo](https://www.ojogo.pt/7261709382/processo-jota-silva-e-para-acelerar-negociacoes-devem-ser-retomadas-em-forca/#iss=https%3A%2F%2Fsso.noticiasilimitadas.pt%2Frealms%2FNI_PRD) and [Record](https://www.record.pt/mercado/detalhe/20250819-083442-mercado-a-mexer-todos-os-rumores-e-confirmacoes?ref=HP_DestaquesPrincipais), who both cover his potential Nottingham Forest exit today.
O Jogo kick things off, reporting that Sporting’s negotiations with Nottingham Forest should be ‘resumed in strength’ now that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have signed Arnaud Kalimuendo.
The Portuguese side plan to accelerate negotiations with Forest this week in hope of finally getting the deal for Silva completed. Talks have been ongoing for weeks but had stagnated while Nottingham Forest focused on making signings.
They’ve now done that and so the belief is that Silva will be allowed to depart. This will be authorised by Espirito Santo, who has never considered the forward as a serious option in his squad.
Silva is an express wish for Sporting manger Rui Borges, who worked with him at Vitória de Guimarães and wants to reunite.
Record, meanwhile, report that Silva remains on the list at Sporting, but they will only turn to him once they’ve signed Yeremay.
They say that despite Borges recently mentioning him in a press conference, Silva will only be pushed for until they’ve signed Yeremay. They say Silva’s situation at Nottingham Forest hasn’t changed despite him playing in the 3-1 win over Brentford.
They’re less optimistic than O Jogo and suggest that the drawn-out process will continue to rumble on for a while yet.
Drawn out transfers are very much an issue with Silva, whose original move to Nottingham Forest was also long and arduous despite the willingness from all sides to get it done. Now history is repeating itself.
