‘At Least A Month’: Dallas Cowboys Receive Bad News On WR

The Dallas Cowboys‘ offense is set to be short of a key player for at least the first month of the regular season.

The Cowboys upgraded their receiver room for quarterback Dak Prescott this offseason when they traded for George Pickens. Pickens should help at depth for Dallas as the team begins the season without Jonathan Mingo.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Mingo is now expected to begin the season on injured reserve, meaning he will miss the first four games of the regular season.

“Sources:Cowboys WR Jonathan Mingo is dealing with a PCL injury he suffered last week that’s expected to sideline him to start the regular season,” Schultz posted on X. “The belief is he’ll be out for at least a month.”

Mingo has one reception for 49 in the preseason. The 2023 second-round pick was traded to the Cowboys from the Carolina Panthers last season. He appeared in eight games for Dallas, catching 17 passes for 167 yards. He has 60 receptions for 585 yards but no touchdowns during his first two seasons in the league.

The former Ole Miss standout is entering a critical year three. There is hope that being on a roster with CeeDee Lamb and Pickens will open up the field for the six-foot-two, 220-pound receiver.

But it looks like he won’t have a chance to make his mark until Week 5 when Dallas goes on the road to play the New York Jets.
