Report: Chelsea have'promised'to make an official bid to sign£60m star this summer

Chelsea look as if they are not done yet when it comes to summer transfer business, and have reportedly promised to make a move for one player before the transfer window closes.

Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian are amongst the players who have already joined the club, all making their Premier League debuts in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

Xavi Simons has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and has turned down approaches from major clubs such as Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Despite interest being long-standing in the Netherlands international, it has been a number of weeks now where there has been very little progression between the two clubs.

Chelsea ‘promise’ to make an official offer for Xavi Simons

Simons’ agent was spotted at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s two pre-season friendlies, with it clear that all parties are still working towards a deal being done.

The Blues will no doubt be buoyed by the fact that the player has made it clear that he only wants a move to Stamford Bridge, and it looks as if they are set to reward that commitment.

According to Sky Germany, Chelsea have ‘promised’ that they are going to make an official offer for Simons before the transfer window closes.

It was said that Chelsea wanted to make final checks on Morgan Rogers’ status before going ahead with a move for Simons, with him being seen as their dream target after his successful start to life in the Premier League.

Chelsea waiting for key player sale before signing Simons

It has previously been reported that the Blues are having to wait for some player sales to be made official before being able to complete a deal for Simons.

One player they are pushing to sell is Christopher Nkunku, with both the club and the player not keen on a loan deal this summer.

Leipzig were reported to be interested in Nkunku, however were far more keen on a temporary switch.

Bayern Munich are expected to make an offer for Nkunku, and after the Blues rejected a loan approach it could see them finally receive what they are looking for to part ways.
