“This Is How Management Fails Its Players”: Trey Hendrickson Caught In Controversy As NFL…

Trey Hendrickson, defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals, will soon be traded off to another team, according to recent reports coming in from the team. This move has been slammed by both fans and analysts who know only too well that the player is invaluable to the team. Hendrickson is currently in the final year of his four-year contract and the player is seeking a pretty big extension.

Hendrickson is asking for a contract similar to what other crucial players in the team, like quarterback Joe Burrow, are enjoying. The defensive end has definitely proven his worth in previous seasons and is expected to do more in the upcoming years. However, the Bengals don’t seem to realize this and are going to trade the defensive end soon. Recently, NFL analyst Trey Wingo called out the team’s management for fumbling the ball when it came to Hendrickson.

“Let’s recap: the Bengals have a generational Hall of Fame QB and they’ve paid his top two targets. Despite all of this, they missed the playoffs last season because their defense was all terrible. So how do they fix it? By listening to trade offers for their best defensive player unsigned defensive end Trey Hendrickson. This is how management fails its players,” Trey Wingo wrote from his X about Trey Hendrickson and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Trey Hendrickson did try his best to make his opinions heard by the team by not showing up to training camp. However, he did change his mind later on and attended the final week of camp, but did not participate in the activities.

Trey Hendrickson Disappointed With Contract Talks With Bengals

Trey Hendrickson seems to be pretty much an adjusting guy, even when it comes to his contract extension. In a conversation with ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge before the second preseason game against the Washington Commanders, Hendrickson admitted that most of the factors of the extension are pretty much in agreement.

However, when it came to guaranteed money, Trey Hendrickson and the Cincinnati Bengals are pretty far apart. Hendrickson wants more guaranteed money, especially since he is an all-round performer and dependable player. The Bengals don’t see eye-to-eye on this and are refusing to budge.

The Cincinnati Bengals have been continuously called out by fans for messing up the situation when it comes to Trey Hendrickson’s contract extension. Meanwhile, the team will be preparing for their third preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts in the upcoming weekend.
