Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze will soon leave his club and only Arsenal and Spurs are in race to sign him this season. Arsenal were the clear favourites to secure their man but arch-rivals Spurs have recently taken the advantageous position. After winning the FA Cup last season, Eberechi Eze has lifted the FA Community Shield with Crystal Palace by beating Liverpool in the tiebreaker. The eventful summer transfer window is still open and Eberechi Eze has expressed his desire to join a new club this season. Crystal Palace value their talisman at £70 million at this moment. Eze’s release clause has also expired. However, he still featured in Palace’s season opener against Chelsea.
Spurs Want to Bring in Eze to Bolster Their Upfront
Tottenham Hotspur are currently going through a very important transitional phase at this moment. Although they finished 16th in the league table last season, Spurs pulled off a miracle and clinched their first major trophy in 70 years. They defeated Manchester United in the final and booked their place in this season’s UEFA Champions League. For this new season, they have brought in Thomas Frank as their new head coach. Spurs have also bought Mohammed Kudus. But after 10 long years, Spurs legend Heung-min Son left the club and joined MLS side LAFC. The club eventually suffered another big blow as creative midfielder James Maddison suffered a very unfortunate ACL injury during their pre-season campaign in Hong Kong. Especially due to this setback, Spurs now want to sign Eberechi Eze in the coming weeks by hook or by crook. Reports have already come out that Spurs have agreed to move faster than Arsenal and will pay the fixed price tag for Eberechi Eze. As things stand right now, Eberechi Eze too might choose the UEFA Europa League winners over Arsenal. Spurs have started their campaign brilliantly with a thumping victory over Burnley. Brazilian forward Richarlison scored a brace. But it is also clear that Spurs will go all out for Manchester City winger Savinho, also. But Savinho is not a backup option for Eze.

Arsenal Must Act Sensibly Now on the Eberechi Eze Saga
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta wants the addition of Eberechi Eze in his team. The club officials are also very much aware of the current situation. The Gunners were the clear favourites to get the deal done but their bitter rivals Spurs have advanced in hijacking the deal. This Arsenal team has already paid over £200 million in the transfer market. But still Arteta feels that the addition of Eberechi Eze will give his side the necessary impact this season. The fans also believe that their team has bought more defensively solid midfielders than attacking ones. Players like Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard have surely added extra strength in Arsenal’s defensive screen. Declan Rice and Marin Odegaard have to take more attacking responsibilities. Amid this situation, Eze might be the last piece of the puzzle for Arsenal. Even in the Community Shield final, Eze showed why both these clubs are in a war to sign him. His pressing football and accurate through balls are too hard to intercept. On the other hand, Arsenal are slowly losing their hopes of signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid. It seems that the Brazilian himself does not want to leave the Los Blancos. So, if Spurs get Eberechi Eze, Arsenal do not have any ‘Plan B’ ready for that yet.
