Arsenal Young Star Returns to Brighton & Hove Albion on Loan

Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that Michelle Agyemang will rejoin the club on loan from Arsenal. The forward spent the [2024/25 season](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-super-league-table-standings/) with the Seagulls, making 22 appearances and scoring five goals.

Her performances earned her a place in Sarina Wiegman’s Women’s EURO 2025 squad, where she proved to be a crucial player. Agyemang scored vital goals against Sweden and Italy, helping England secure back-to-back European Championships. She was named Young Player of the Tournament and has also been nominated for the Women’s Kopa Trophy as part of this year’s Ballon d’Or awards.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michelle back for another season. We loved working with her last year, and seeing how much she progressed as part of the squad.

“What she achieved during the summer with England was incredible but not surprising. She has the character, work ethic and relentless nature of a champion. As a club we’re incredibly proud of her.

“She was a pivotal part of our record-breaking season last year and we’re excited for what this new season looks like with her in our attack.”

Brighton have also secured another Arsenal player on loan: Rosa Kafaji. The Swedish international joined the Gunners in 2024 and made 19 appearances in her debut season. Before moving to the WSL, Kafaji starred for BK Häcken, where she made 61 appearances and scored 28 goals across two seasons.

Another addition is Maëlys Mpome, who joins Brighton on a permanent deal from Chelsea. The central defender moved to the Blues in the summer of 2024 from Montpellier, where she had spent four years. At Chelsea, Mpome made eight appearances across the Women’s Super League, League Cup, and Champions League, finishing the season as part of a historic treble-winning squad.
