Liverpool’s title defence is underway and some of their new stars helped them get over the line in the opening game.
The Reds’ season started off with a win at home to Bournemouth in a game that saw four debuts handed out to some of the new signings.
Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz started towards the top end of the pitch, while Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong went straight into either full-back slot, with some impressing more than others.
The latter was someone who had a decent game overall but still has huge room for growth, although the signs were mostly promising.
And, despite this only being the first game of the season, Frimpong has already set a record, and it is one he will likely break many times throughout the campaign with Liverpool.

Jeremie Frimpong was the fastest player in the Premier League this weekend
Although the Dutchman had been tearing it up in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons, nobody was exactly sure what he would bring to the side, although pace was a guarantee.
And, after just one weekend, he has shown that in abundance, with the 24-year-old recording the fastest top speed after the first round of games.
Frimpong clocked a top speed of 36.1km/h, which equates to 22.4mp/h, a simply frightening statistic for the rest of the league.

In comparison, Tottenham Hotspur’s Micky van de Ven was the fastest player last season after recording a top speed of 36.1km/h (23.1 mp/h), meaning Frimpong still has work to do if he is to beat his fellow countryman’s record.
In fact, although impressive, the right-back’s top speed would not be enough to make it into the top five for last season, but as it is just the first game of the season and he is not yet at full fitness, it would be no surprise to see him towards the top come May.
Jeremie Frimpong offers something very different to Trent Alexander-Arnold
When the Reds finally admitted defeat and lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, they needed to somehow find a replacement for him, and Frimpong was the man they opted for.
Although he might prove to be the perfect alternative, both are very different players, with their speed just one thing that stands out.
As well as this, ‘Trent’ truly was a one-of-a-kind player and his ability on the ball was second to none, something the Dutchman simply cannot compete with.
However, Frimpong’s ability in a one vs one situation is much better, with the Dutchman quick to beat his man or overlap Mohamed Salah to isolate the opposing full-back.
This might cause a change of tactics as fewer crosses will be swung into the box, but cut-backs from the byline will likely be seen much more regularly.
