Former Magic Player Lands New Job With Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are in a very interesting place right now, with the potential to be one of the best teams in the entire NBA.

They have the talent on the roster, and they are building a stronger coaching staff, too.

Michael Scotto is reporting that Rashard Lewis will be a Spurs player development coach in the new season.

He is a two-time All-Star and champion with the 2013 Miami Heat.

During his career, Lewis averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 rebounds and played for multiple teams.

Now he is going to take all of his experience and help the next generation of NBA stars.

This isn’t Lewis’ first time as a coach.

He was previously an assistant for the Detroit Pistons, so Lewis knows what he is doing, but he will probably get even more experience and responsibilities with the Spurs.

San Antonio has been hard at work putting together a lineup full of future All-Stars.

At the center of it all, of course, is Victor Wembanyama, who is still viewed as a generational talent.

But he’s not the only breakout player for the Spurs, especially with De’Aaron Fox now on the team.

There are others and the Spurs have been very lucky and productive during recent drafts.

Lewis will get to work with these incoming players, helping them improve their skills, adjust to playing in the league, and plan their future paths.

He knows how the league works and understands what young stars need to focus on.

He could be a pivotal part of the team’s future by focusing on the steady flow of skills entering the roster.
