An update has emerged from Stamford Bridge revealing Chelsea’s stance on Wolves target Axel Disasi.
Wolves are still interested in bolstering their defence further, with the deficiencies on full display against Man City at the weekend.
Disasi has been on Wolves’ radar for some time, and it was reported last week that a formal approach for the Chelsea centre-back had been made.

Now, information has emerged that clarifies Chelsea’s position and gives Wolves an indication as to the feasibility of a move.
Chelsea expect to sell Axel Disasi to a Premier League side
Writing for The Athletic’s Transfer DealSheet, journalist David Ornstein has revealed that Chelsea are very much looking to sell Disasi, as he reports: “The expectation is that Veiga and Disasi will be sold, most likely within the Premier League.”
Good news for Wolves fans, who will have been concerned by Emmanuel Agbadou’s regression from last season and Jose Sa’s shaky performance in goal at the weekend.
But it’s not as straightforward as you might hope.

As Ornstein explains: “Disasi has two firm suitors in the Premier League.”
Chelsea would rather sell than loan Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell before the window closes.

He doesn’t name any teams, but it’s safe to assume Wolves are one of them. The question is who are, but really, how rich are the other club in the mix?
How much Axel Disasi would cost Wolves
The Premier League premium is a real thing, which is why Wolves have avoided too much business with other English sides in recent years.
But Disasi is an opportunity with high upside, and Wolves will have to reach into the pocket a bit in order to bring in starting-quality talent.

Chelsea are looking to recoup as much of the £39 million fee they paid for Disasi as they can. The rumoured price is £25-£30 million, similar to what Arsenal want for Jakub Kiwior.
Whether Wolves can rise to this or convince Chelsea to drop it down remains to be seen, but there’s no question a signing like this would be an exciting addition to Vitor Pereira’s side.
