The Golden State Warriors have been stubborn about their offseason moves and haven’t made a single one so far.
But that doesn’t mean that things aren’t happening behind the scenes.
Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson is reporting that Steph Curry wants Gary Payton II back on the team in the new year.
In fact, he’s been in “direct contact” with Payton and has been “pushing for a reunion on a two-year deal.”
Curry usually gets just about anything he wants, but will the front office listen to him?

Payton has been a wonderful help for the Warriors during his multiple years with them.
He has averaged 6.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists during his five seasons in Golden State.
He spent some brief time away with the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2022-23 season, but quickly came back to Curry and the rest of the team.
Injuries have been a problem for him lately, but team camaraderie has not.
Curry isn’t the only one who loves Payton and wants him back, but the team’s management is in a tricky spot.
They are attempting to work out their situation with Jonathan Kuminga.
There hasn’t been a solution there, and it has slowed down all of their other plans.
That is one of the main reasons why they haven’t done anything else, but the clock is ticking, and they will have to figure it out soon.
Once the Kuminga saga comes to an end, they can look at making a new deal with Payton and others.
The Warriors might make Curry and the fans happy soon.
