Mike Conley is still in search of a championship as he gears up for his 19th season as an NBA player. There’s no telling how he’d celebrate if he’d won a ring, but we probably have some idea what it would look like based on how he reacted after getting a hole-in-one at the incredibly exclusive golf course he belongs to.

It’s only natural that many professional athletes who make a living playing a sport that isn’t golf are still more than able to hold their own on the links. That includes many NBA players who are known for their prowess on the course, including Steph Curry (who currently boasts a handicap of +2.4), Austin Reaves (+1), and Michael Jordan (who doesn’t publicly track his scores but is estimated to be around a 2).

Mike Conley would get some strokes if he faced off against any of those guys, as the man who belongs to The Golf Club in New Albany, Ohio (just outside of Columbus) sits at 4.4. However, he did what he could to lower that number with the hole-in-one that elicited a very relatable reaction.

Mike Conley couldn’t contain his excitement after getting a hole-in-one at one of the best golf courses in the world

Conley had a one-and-done stint at Ohio State alongside Greg Harden before the Grizzlies scooped him up with the fourth overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, and while he’s spent time in Memphis and Utah during a career where he’s played in Minnesota since 2023, the veteran point guard resides in the Columbus area in the offseason.

The man who’s accumulated nearly $285 million in career earnings can certainly afford to belong to The Golf Club, the members only, Pete Dye-designed course in New Albany that Golf Digest and Golf respectively ranked as the 46th and 60th best course in the United States (it’s exclusive to the point where I can’t find any details concerning the initation fee or yearly dues for a club that supposedly boasts around 150 members).

Conley recently headed there for a round and had his playing partner record as they were driving up to the green on the par-3 16th after he appeared to get a hole-in-one, and he went all out after confirming he had, in fact, recorded an ace.

Must be nice.
