Porto remain locked in discussions with Arsenal over a deal for Jakub Kiwior, with further talks expected in the coming days, GIVEMESPORT understands.
A meeting between the clubs took place yesterday as Porto pushes to sign the Poland international before the window closes. Their proposal centres around a loan agreement with a mandatory buy option next summer, which would guarantee a permanent transfer.
The structure is designed to ease Porto’s short-term financial burden while securing Arsenal a fee in 2026.

Sources indicate that salary remains the main obstacle in negotiations, with Porto keen for Arsenal to cover part of the 25-year-old’s wages during the loan spell.
That issue has slowed progress, though discussions are continuing. Crucially, the final outcome will depend heavily on Kiwior himself. The defender, who has been described as 'sensational', is understood to be open to leaving Arsenal if the right opportunity presents itself, with Porto’s project viewed positively.
However, nothing has been agreed yet, and there is no certainty a move will be finalised.
Since joining Arsenal from Spezia in January 2023, Kiwior has featured sporadically, showing promise but struggling to establish himself as a first-choice under Mikel Arteta.
His ability to play both as a centre-back and on the left side of defence makes him a valuable option, but competition for places has limited his game time.
Porto, meanwhile, are keen to strengthen their back line ahead of a demanding domestic and European schedule, and see Kiwior’s versatility as an asset. Jan Bednarek, his Poland teammate, has been encouraging him to consider Porto, and that has helped sway the player towards keeping an open mind.
