Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca will hope to see his side improve when they travel to East London to face West Ham United on Friday.
The Blues were held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace in their opening match of the new Premier League season on Sunday, with the hosts missing a number of chances at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca and those in charge of the club’s recruitment have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, with Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro among those to have arrived in SW6.
Several stars have also left Chelsea, including goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and winger Noni Madueke, who both joined rivals Arsenal.
Now, it appears that the Blues are closing in on a signing of their own from a huge rival.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are advancing in talks with Manchester United over a move for winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The journalist claims that the Blues are making progress in their efforts to sign the Argentine, who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for several weeks now.
Garnacho, 21, is said to only be interested in a move to Chelsea and has rejected an approach from German champions Bayern Munich in recent days, the report claims.
Romano claims that those in charge of both Chelsea and United have a good relationship, which has allowed negotiations over the proposed deal to progress.
Having joined United’s youth system in 2020, Garnacho has now played 144 times for the Red Devils across all competitions, scoring 26 goals and registering 22 assists.
He is contracted to United until the end of the 2027/28 season, but it appears extremely unlikely that he will leave Old Trafford before the end of the current transfer window.
