Report: Wrexham now interested in 'exceptional' Liverpool ace as Ryan Reynolds looks to bolster their ranks

Liverpool have had a massive clear-out of their ranks this summer, with several long-term players being shown the exit door.

Players such as Caoimhin Kelleher and Luis Diaz have both been sold so that Arne Slot could rebuild his team and make them even more dominant.

And, while things haven’t quite gone to plan in their first two competitive games of the season, the fact that they managed to end their first Premier League game with all three points is all that fans could’ve asked for.

However, seeing as though there are still a couple of weeks left in the transfer window, it means that there’s still plenty of time for changes to be made if and when needed.

Wrexham are once again keeping tabs on Liverpool’s Lewis Koumas

Wrexham have had an impressive rise to the Championship over the last few seasons, with players such as Elliott Lee and Paul Mullin helping them reach the second tier of English football.

And, even though the latter of the two has moved on from the Racecourse Ground, their goal of earning promotion has stayed the same.

As per a new report from TEAMtalk, it seems like Phil Parkinson’s men are still keeping tabs on Liverpool’s Lewis Koumas.

The attacker ‘remains a target’ for the Welsh club, especially since new striker Josh Windass is set to be sidelined for an extended period due to injury.

However, as well as bolstering their attacking ranks with Koumas, Ryan Reynolds’ club are also looking to ‘stiffen their defence.’

Lewis Koumas moving to Wrexham makes plenty of sense

Koumas has been described as “exceptional” by Liverpool’s Under-21 manager Rob Page, with the attacker quickly becoming one of the Reds’ best players in their youth ranks.

Although the youngster wasn’t taken on the pre-season tour, the fact that he played 45 minutes against Preston North End at the start of pre-season shows that Slot knows about his quality.

The 19-year-old had a solid season with Stoke last term, where he managed to contribute to nine goals across all competitions while playing 49 games across the entirety of the Potters’ attacking line.

Other Championship clubs, such as Norwich, have also shown an interest in Koumas, but the fact that Wrexham is much closer to Liverpool than Norwich is, means that Parkinson’s men may have a better chance of getting a deal over the line.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but with this much interest being shown in him already, it’s hard to see why he’d stay at Anfield this term.
