Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks led the NBA in assists last season, averaging 11.6 per game.
He was a dominant force on the court and helped many players score points for the Hawks.
According to NBACentral, Young created 2,191 points off of assists last season.
He did more than anyone in the league, including Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets (1,850), Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers (1,738), James Harden of the Los Angeles Clippers (1,692), and Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons (1,635).

Beating Jokic, Haliburton, Harden, and Cunningham at anything is always impressive, but especially when it comes to assists, because all of those men are masters at finding their teammates and setting them up for success.
There are complaints about Young, but they are never about his assists.
Since entering the league, he has been phenomenal when it comes to these sorts of plays, and it’s easily one of his strongest features.
In the new season, the Hawks will want to see him spread the wealth on the court even more because they have big plans.
They have made some smart and strategic moves during the summer, adding depth and size to their roster.
It is clear that they believe the time has come for the Hawks to fly higher and become one of the greatest teams in the Eastern Conference.
Of course, Haliburton will be front and center for all of that and will quite literally lead the team with his assists.
If things go well, people expect Young to stick around with the Hawks longer.
But if 2025-26 is troubled and Atlanta doesn’t make advances, there is a lot of speculation about him leaving next summer.
So everyone will be paying close attention to Young, his talents, and his future plans this year.
