Turkish team Galatasaray have splashed a €20m proposal for the goalkeeping position, an area where they could have snapped up Southampton's loaned star Aaron Ramsdale.
Not this one, but the coming Monday carries a Premier League treat for various sections of English football fans. Both Newcastle United and Liverpool's fans will be hoping Alexander Isak turns for them on that day but honestly, that can also fall nowhere.
Still, Southampton fans will have their usual suspects on show, and by that I mean a recently left superstar. Gone are the years when the Saints used to provide their star amongst starters to the Reds, and currently the Magpies have received Southampton's aid in the form of Aaron Ramsdale.
As a full-time Saint, Ramsdale's first Premier League bow came in an outside territory, so the 27-year-old winning the first favour at his present home could be difficult as a loanee.
How would that have played out if Ramsdale was heading elsewhere? A welcome debut from the home crowd or away fans getting the best view to rate his saves.
Plettenberg's update hints Ramsdale could have permanently left for Galatasaray
Assuming the English shot-stopper attended games from the start, it would be an away entry followed by the one at Galatasaray's home. Indeed, they were staring at their then-record transfer that drew pessimism over to the Saints faithful but their spending desire has scaled up ever since.
In the words of journalist Florian Plettenberg: "Galatasaray have submitted an official offer for Diogo Costa worth €20 million plus add-ons."
Look, the Turkish outfit is permanently shopping big for goalkeepers meaning they could have paid the whole Ramsdale asking price, without spreading it into loans and then putting their counterparts at St. Mary's waiting for their final buying answer.
Now, it will be awesome if Newcastle also come with a handshake and a lofty Ramsdale paycheck next year. Because spending two summers worrying for one sale will be subpar stuff from Southampton.
