Leeds United have had a mixed summer in the transfer market.
The Whites have already welcomed eight new faces into their squad, but their business has been marred somewhat by their failure to seal deals for several key targets in the early stages of the summer.
Daniel Farke’s side got off to the perfect start in the Premier League with a win over Everton on Monday night, but it is clear that they will still need further additions if they are to achieve their goal of consolidating their place in top flight for another season.
The West Yorkshire outfit now look set for yet another transfer battle, and it is important that they put their past failings behind them to ensure that they get their man this time around.

Leeds and Sunderland ‘best placed’ to sign Christantus Uche
Sunderland have been a key part of Leeds’ summer so far, having beaten them to several potentially crucial new signings.
MORE LEEDS STORIES
The Wearsiders leapfrogged the Whites to secure the signatures of both Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki, and a similar scenario could now be about to play out.
They now appear set to go toe to toe for Christantus Uche, as the Premier League duo are understood to be “best placed” to sign the Getafe attacker, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The Nigerian has a £21.5million release clause in his contract, and is also thought to be attracting attention from Bundesliga sides, although it looks like a move to the Premier League could be the more likely option.
Leeds have already seen their efforts thwarted by Sunderland on several occasions so far this summer, and the 49ers will surely be gunning to exact their revenge on their fellow newly-promoted side where Uche is concerned.
If the Black Cats get the better of them in the market yet again, then it would send out a concerning message about the level of ambition at Elland Road.

Uche has opened the season in excellent form
Leeds’ interest in Uche is nothing new, as they already launched an enquiry about his availability earlier in the summer.
Any potential deal still seems a fair way off at the moment, but a sale would certainly have its benefits for Getafe, given that they would net a swift and significant profit after only signing him last summer.

However, the Whites will still be encouraged to see the start that their target has made to the new campaign.
Uche was instrumental in his side’s 2-0 win at Celta Vigo on the opening day of the La Liga season, and set up the opening goal for Adrian Liso, before his own strike put the result beyond doubt in the second half.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds will be able to reach an agreement for the star, but they have already seen that he would be ready to come in and make an immediate impact.
