Report: Crystal Palace table bid to sign another ‘phenomenal’ forward alongside El Khannouss

Crystal Palace have tabled a formal offer to sign Christos Tzolis to replace Eberechi Eze as he closes in on a move to Tottenham, according to Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath.

The Eagles have had a quiet transfer window with Walter Benitez and Borna Sosa arriving to bolster Oliver Glasner's squad, but their best business so far has been being able to keep hold of top stars Adam Wharton, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Marc Guehi and Eze so far.

However, a move for the England playmaker now looks to be on the cards with a fee agreed with Spurs, and Selhurst Park chiefs have made their move to replace him in the squad.

Crystal Palace Make £26m Bid for Tzolis

Christos Tzolis

Tzolis, who has been described as 'phenomenal', has now emerged as one of the club's top contenders to come into the Eze-shaped hole in the squad, and it's understood that a bid worth £26m has been tabled to Club Brugge.

However, the Belgian club are not interested in selling him for that price and have slapped a £34.5m asking price on his head.

The 23-year-old signed a new long-term contract with the Champions League outfit recently which means there is no pressure to sell, and talks are ongoing between the clubs and also Palace and the player's camp.

While Tzolis has emerged as a serious target, he isn't the only one, with Palace also keeping a close eye on Leicester City forward Bilal El Khannouss.

The Moroccan has already agreed personal terms with the Eagles and told the Foxes that he wants to make the move to south London following the relegation last season, but so far there is a gap in valuation between the clubs and talks are also ongoing.

Palace are making their moves as they know Eze could well be on the move soon, and a move could accelerate ahead of their next Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
