Leeds United are moving closer to offloading another player from their squad following their win over Everton in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke was able to unleash his first-choice full-back pairing against Everton, as Jayden Bogle overcame a pre-season hip injury to take his place in the starting line-up.
Both Bogle and the impressive Gabriel Gudmundsson enjoyed a good night against Everton, as their dynamic runs helped to pin the Toffees back, particularly in the first half.
Leeds are looking to add another full-back to their squad, with the club linked to James Justin of Leicester City. As a result, Isaac Schmidt is edging closer to the exit door at Elland Road.
Now, Werder Bremen’s manager has opened up on the club’s interest in Schmidt as the two clubs look to close a deal.

Werder Bremen chief discusses Leeds United man
Speaking to the German publication Bild, Bremen boss Peter Niemeyer admitted his club’s interest in the versatile Leeds man.
Admitting that Bremen’s pursuit of the Swiss international is not a secret, Niemeyer stated: “It’s known that we’re interested in Isaac and he can very well imagine a move to us.”
However, Bild adds that the German club are growing impatient as they wait for the deal to be completed. The German paper states: “Either the deal goes through by the start of the week, or Werder backs off the offer.”

Despite reports suggesting Leeds were in advanced talks to sign Justin, his injury whilst on duty for Leicester appears to have slowed down progress on the deal.
Now, Leeds may need to intensify their pursuit to ensure that Bremen do not pull out of the deal for Schmidt.

Max Wober injury could help Leeds United
Although Bremen are seemingly impatient to get the deal for Schmidt over the line, Leeds could have received assistance from an unexpected source.
Fellow exiled Leeds man Max Wober is currently on loan at Bremen, having been deemed surplus to requirements at Elland Road this season.
However, Wober suffered a thigh injury on the verge of the new season, which could rule him out for several weeks.
As a result, Bremen’s attempts to strengthen their defence have now become more urgent, which could make them less likely to pull out of the deal for Schmidt.
