Inter Milan in talks to sign Arsenal star

Arsenal welcome newly-promoted Leeds United to The Emirates on Saturday.

The Gunners fought to a narrow 1-0 victory against old rivals Manchester United in their Premier League season opener on Sunday afternoon, and Mikel Arteta will expect to see his side double their points tally when they face the Whites.

This summer has been a busy one for the Gunners, with plenty of incomings and outgoings in North London.

Now, it appears that one of Italy’s biggest clubs are showing interest in one member of Arteta’s squad.

As per TBR Football, Serie A giants Inter Milan are in talks with sign Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard.

The report claims that Inter have held discussions with their Premier League counterparts about a possible move for the Belgian, who appears to have fallen somewhat down the pecking order at The Emirates in recent months.

Trossard featured in more games than any other Arsenal player across all competitions last term, but his position as a guaranteed starter has since been put under threat following the arrivals of Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.

Trossard featured heavily in the absence of both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus last season and their returns, along with the arrival of Gyokeres, mean he is unlikely to feature through the centre this time around.

Having joined Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion back in 2023, Trossard has now scored 28 goals and provided 23 assists in 124 games for the club across all competitions.

He is under contract at the club until the end of the current campaign, but the report suggests that he could be allowed to leave Arsenal this summer.

Inter had initially been keen to sign Ademola Lookman from fellow Italian side Atalanta, but that move appears to have collapsed and the Serie A giants are now assessing alternative options.

With Trossard having failed to play a single minute of Arsenal’s victory over Man United on Sunday, it appears that the Belgium international could depart The Emirates before the close of the current transfer window.
