Everton are looking for potential defensive additions over the coming weeks.
The clock is ticking down on Angus Kinnear and Everton before the transfer deadline at the start of September.
David Moyes got his first sight of his side in competitive action on Monday evening against Leeds United at Elland Road.
A lot of improvements need to be made in various positions, but the injuries in defence will have highlighted the lack of squad depth.
Everton are expected to make three new signings before the end of the window.
It has to be remembered that a lot of players departed in June at the end of their contracts, whether that be loan or permanent deals.
Now, one target has suggested that he would prefer to make a move abroad this summer.

Last week, it was suggested that Everton hold an interest in Jakub Kiwior, with his Arsenal future hanging in the balance.

The versatile defender is in search of more consistent game time to what he is receiving in north London.
According to journalist Ed Aarons, the centre-back is now leaning towards a foreign move if he is to depart Arsenal.
A potential move to Everton would now appear to be unlikely, with Arsenal having opened talks already with another club.
It is believed Porto are keen to sign Kiwior on a season-long loan deal.
With Jarrad Branthwaite injured again, the options in defence have taken a real hit over recent weeks.
James Garner had to play at left-back on Monday night, showing just how good a signing the flexible Kiwior could have proven to be for the Blues.
David Moyes keen to sign another right-back for Everton
After the Scot arrived last season, O’Brien really impressed Moyes having been handed regular minutes at right-back.
The Ireland international is not a natural full-back, but he has provided solid cover whilst others have sat out injured.
However, speaking to the media on Friday, Moyes admitted that right-back is an area where he would like to see another addition added.
We might try and get another right back, but, at the moment, we might just have some other priorities,” he said at Finch Farm.
