Mark Cuban has been one of the key faces of the Dallas Mavericks for decades, but he might also consider being the face of the country.
Back in 2000, Cuban bought the Mavericks for $285 million and oversaw the best stretch in franchise history over the next couple of decades. With Cuban at the helm, the Mavericks poured all of their faith into Dirk Nowitzki, who eventually led them to the 2006 NBA Finals and 2011 NBA title.
Cuban also oversaw the drafting of Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic and was one of the most notable governors throughout his time as the head of the team.
While he is still a minority owner, Cuban sold his majority stake in the Mavericks in 2023, also giving up his governor duties, but he might soon be taking on a much larger load than anything an NBA governor has to deal with.
From Dallas to D.C.?

In a recent interview with Semafor, Cuban revealed that he would consider running for president, but only if Donald Trump attempted to run for a third term in 2028.
“I'm not going to do it,” [Cuban said.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmHqOIquS9Q) “I've said the only way I would do it is if Trump tried to run for a third term. Because then that's just changing everything, right? And that's a true threat.”
Cuban hasn't been shy about speaking his mind in the past, so he would have a fair share of supporters and opposers if he entered his name into the election pool.
While Cuban has also expressed his disinterest in running for president, he also typically backs up his words with actions. It would be a massive step for Cuban to go from one of the NBA’s most lovable owners to a presidential candidate, but the billionaire might give it a shot if the situation calls for it.
