Leeds United have been linked with Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi this summer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha have been signed by Leeds, but Daniel Farke may still want another attacker to join before the transfer window closes.
Nmecha scored at Elland Road as the Whites beat Everton 1-0 on Monday night, but it’s still unclear if he’s capable of leading the line regularly for the rest of the season.

Inter banish Taremi to the Under-23s
While Calvert-Lewin is expected to compete for a regular starting role, Farke may want more firepower in attack.
Leeds are ahead of Fulham in the race for Taremi and have a couple of weeks left to secure his services.

Sportmediaset journalist Orazio Accomando reported on 7 August that the Whites have even opened talks with the Serie A club to sign the 33-year-old.
Now, while the Iran international has returned to train with the Inter players ahead of the 2025/26 season, an exit is still on the cards.

Tuttosport reported on 19 August that the striker has been told to train with the Under-23s and will not be playing first-team football this season.
He is not part of manager Cristian Chivu’s plans and the Italian wants him out before the transfer window closes.
Leeds United can now make an approach for Taremi
Inter Milan’s decision to exclude Taremi from their first-team squad and relegate him to the U-23s signals his likely departure, presenting an opportunity for Leeds to pursue the 33-year-old striker.
With Taremi out of Inter’s plans under Chivu, the club are keen to facilitate a transfer, potentially at a cut-price fee.
The Whites, under Farke, are actively seeking a proven goalscorer to bolster their attack for the 2025/26 Premier League season, especially with Patrick Bamford potentially leaving and Mateo Joseph out on loan.
Taremi’s impressive record at Porto of 91 goals in 182 games and his desire to play in the Premier League make him an attractive target for Leeds, who have previously shown interest.
