Liverpool have had a busy summer in terms of both incomings and outgoings, and could yet sanction a 12th exit before the window closes on September 1.

The Reds have brought in a flurry of fresh talent, including the likes of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, but they have also made some significant sales. Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are among the high-profile departures, while Ben Doak is the latest player to leave, taking the total generated from sales just shy of the £230m mark.

Having strengthened at left-back earlier in the window with the arrival of Milos Kerkez, Kostas Tsimikas has fallen down the pecking order and could depart in the final two weeks of the window. Although there are yet to be any concrete links, the latest rumours from Greece suggest a possible exit route for the 29-year-old.

According to outlet SporTime, no suitable offers from the Premier League or elsewhere have materialised so far. As a result, a loan return to former club Olympiacos cannot be ruled out, and the player's stance on a potential move back to Greece is said to have softened in recent days.

Tsimikas joined Olympiacos' youth setup in 2014 and made 86 senior appearances for the club, while also completing loan spells in Denmark and the Netherlands. He joined Liverpool for a fee just shy of £12m in the summer of 2020 and has since made over 100 appearances across all competitions.

The defender last signed an extension with Liverpool in September 2023, with his current deal set to expire in 2027. He has not been included in the matchday squad for the Reds’ opening two competitive fixtures - the Community Shield and the Premier League win over Bournemouth - amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future.

Tsimikas has been linked with Nottingham Forest, and although initial reports suggested he preferred not to return to Greece, recent speculation indicates that possibility can no longer be ruled out. The report notes that negotiations with Forest are not progressing, and the current options on the table from elsewhere in Europe are underwhelming and a move back to Greece could happen.
