Chelsea are pushing to part ways with Nicolas Jackson before the summer transfer window slams shut on September 1.
The Blues seem to have moved in another direction when it comes to their goalscorers for the 2024/25 season. Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have both been brought in to compete for that position.
Despite a number of Jackson’s potential suitors already completing their striker signings for the summer, a number of interested clubs remain who could be willing to take him off Chelsea’s hands.
Aston Villa have held a long-standing interest in the Senegal international thanks to their manager formally working with him at Villarreal. Jackson would love to play for Unai Emery again.

Aston Villa tipped to offer Morgan Rogers-themed sweetener to confirm Nicolas Jackson signing
They are not the only club interested in a deal. Newcastle have also asked about the striker, and chiefs at the club are now convinced Jackson is a suitable candidate after missing out on a host of their other targets.
However, transfer insider Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that conversations will certainly be happening between the two clubs involving Morgan Rogers, a Villa player who Chelsea are very keen on.
He said: “I do expect Jackson to go. From my understanding at the moment, I think he’s maybe more likely to go to Villa with Emery. I said also it could help Chelsea and Villa’s relationship, where if Chelsea really do want Morgan Rogers, we know they’re desperate for Morgan Rogers at some point, but if they were to, make it a bit easier for Villa to sign Jackson, then they’re not going to forget that.
“And I think they can do a behind the scenes where Chelsea secure first option on Morgan Rogers as part of that deal. All these conversations will be happening. I think there’s a real chance that Jackson ends up at Villa.”

Chelsea’s interest in Rogers
Rogers has been mentioned as a potential Chelsea target since the transfer window opened, when there was believed to be a chance to capitalise on Villa’s PSR situation.
While talk of that scenario has disappeared, this hasn’t deterred interest from Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have checked on Rogers again before pushing forward with signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.
It looks as if Emery’s side are going to keep hold of the England international for this season, however top sides are likely to be keeping an eye on his performances over the next 12 months.
Chelsea will want to put themselves at the front of the queue if anything changes at Villa Park, and softening their stance on Jackson could be a surefire way of staying in their good books.
