Singer-songwriter Jamie Webster’s life changed through his love of Liverpool and helped him live out his music dreams.
From playing football chants in Anfield pubs to selling out his hometown arena, the last 10 years have been a whirlwind for Webster.
However, despite his rise to fame, the diehard Red has remained true to his roots and the values about which he sings.
Sam Millne spoke to Jamie Webster about his Liverpool-supporting life and how he still appreciates the fan culture that helped put him on the map.

How has Liverpool’s fan culture helped your own music career?
Massively. It put me ahead in the first instance because I had loads of people waiting to hear from me, so it was great and I’m very grateful for it.
And that’s why I still come back and do the odd Liverpool show at the end of the year and stuff like that, to give back to that.

My dad’s a massive red, you know what I mean. So yeah, it comes from that.
Most kids, not all kids but most kids, who grow up in this city dabble in sports at least once in their life until they find out whether they like it or not.

You know what, you’re probably going for the Brendan Rodgers years really – maybe the season that we nearly won the league with Rodgers.
I was young then, it was a long time ago. I was like in my prime of going to the match with my mates. Life was a lot different then.
I had no responsibilities; it was all about the match and going and having a good time, getting to as many games as possible.
If I could re-live one game from that season, it would be…
Probably Cardiff away from that season, when we beat them 6-3. It was just end-to-end, but it was a boss day out.
One of the most memorable days I’ve ever had following Liverpool domestically, it was amazing. Luis Suarez was unbelievable.

Jurgen Klopp, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher. Three Scousers.
