According to The Athletic, Leandro Trossard has signed an improved deal at Arsenal that bumps up his wages, but not the length of his stay – his contract still runs until 2027.
Back in May, BBC Sport reported that talks had opened over new terms, only for a change of agent to spark rumours linking him with a move elsewhere. Those whispers were further fuelled by suggestions Arsenal might look to bring in a new left winger, potentially funding it by cashing in on either Trossard or Martinelli.
With Gabriel Martinelli seemingly going nowhere and Trossard now rewarded with a pay rise, it seems neither will be sacrificed this summer.
Attention instead shifts to sporting director Andrea Berta, who has two weeks to trim the squad. Among those tipped to depart are Karl Hein, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson and Jakub Kiwior.
Trossard picked up a minor groin injury on the recent Asia tour but recovered in time to take a place on the bench for Sunday’s season opener at Old Trafford.
