76ers predicted to reach a four-year deal with Quentin Grimes

Quentin Grimes and the Philadelphia 76ers have been working towards a resolution in their contract dispute this offseason, with some predicting he will sign for considerably less than his asking price.

[Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25238851-predictions-nbas-best-available-2025-free-agents) projects that Grimes will ultimately land back with the 76ers on a four-year, $67 million deal, with a player option included. Grimes is currently a restricted free agent, and has still yet to sign a new deal.

“The absence of a deal—and concretely reported price point—suggests the two sides are far apart. That could pave the way for a "signs-the-qualifying-offer" situation,” Favale wrote. “This dance between player and team is giving off an air of inevitability. Grimes and the Sixers will reach a multi-year agreement, with some team flexibility, that guarantees him a notch above mid-level-exception money.”

This proposal is worth considerably less than Grimes’ previous asking price

Favale’s proposal leaves Grimes at an average salary of a little over $16 million, well below his previously reported asking price of $20-25 million annually. Regardless, Grimes hasn’t received a ton of traction on the market from other teams, which may leave him with no choice but to take an offer similar to this proposal.

The 76ers are still hopeful they can retain Grimes after the best stretch of basketball in his career. After mostly struggling to find his way with the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, and Dallas Mavericks, Grimes found his spark with the 76ers last season, averaging 21.9 points per game, while knocking down 37 percent of his three-pointers in 28 games (25 starts).
