Gianluigi Donnarumma’s heart is set on signing for Man City

The good news for Manchester City is that journalist John Cross told Sky Sports’ Back Pages podcast Gianluigi Donnarumma’s heart is set on the move: “I noticed that Wayne Rooney on his sort of kind of podcast [BBC’s The Wayne Rooney Show] was decrying that it would be crazy for United not to move for Donnarumma, who is obviously available at PSG in surplus to requirements.”

“I think he’s got his heart set on Manchester City, well-stocked for goalkeepers. So basically, they’ve got loads and United just need one. Look, I think I was really impressed in many ways with United [against Arsenal].”

The 26-year-old cemented his status as an elite goalkeeper last season and one who is especially a big-game player after standing out in the Champions League.

Currently, Donnarumma and PSG have both respectively asked Manchester City to fulfil a demand of their respectively.

Manchester City believe they could sign Donnarumma closer to the end of the summer transfer window by persuading both parties involved to reduce their demands.
