The Golden State Warriors' offseason has been strange, and it might not conclude in the near future.
Throughout this summer, the Warriors have been one of the most interesting teams in the league. While teams like the Houston Rockets have pulled off blockbuster trades and teams like the Dallas Mavericks have added incredible talent through the draft, the Warriors simply haven’t done anything.
Although there have been some small deals, the Warriors’ expected summer splashes are yet to happen. As Jonathan Kuminga’s contract situation remains uncertain, there is no end in sight for the Warriors’ offseason drama.
Golden State’s offseason is "impossible to judge"

In [The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6466375/2025/08/19/nba-offseason-rankings-2024-warriors-celtics-pacers-pistons/)’s ranking of every team’s offseason, David Aldridge ranked 29 teams, leaving the Warriors on the outside with an incomplete grade. While Aldridge admitted he didn’t enjoy giving a team an “incomplete” for its offseason, there really wasn’t any other choice.
While recent reports indicate that Golden State expects Kuminga on the roster when next season tips off, and Al Horford and other intriguing free agents are waiting on that to sign with the Warriors, it’s hard to grade a series of deals that isn’t guaranteed to happen.
After all, other teams are still holding out hope that the Kuminga saga drags on and perhaps gives them a chance to add Horford or De’Anthony Melton, who are expected to be Warriors in 2025-26. Still, Aldridge noted that if/when those deals go through, the Warriors’ offseason will look much different and should have a higher grade.
However, those moves are still waiting to happen with no end in sight.
