West Ham Exclusive
West Ham claiming that the club are bidding for THREE midfielders today will, expectedly, be followed by a heavy dollop of cynicism.
After all, many of us are wondering what the hell has taken so long and why we’d disadvantage ourselves by using a midfield not fit for purpose during our first two league games?

But news that the Hammers are at least trying to fix Graham Potter’s engine room (no euphemism intended) is a welcome update, I guess. That said, West Ham can hardly leave things as they are, and even the Baroness has conceded that “anyone can see we need pace in midfield.” Phew, that’s a relief.
The question everyone is asking is: what is the identity of these mystery men, and how much are we going to pay for them?

Second bid made for West Ham transfer target
Having spoken to an agent—who seems to have got everything else spot-on today, particularly when some were reporting Edson Álvarez would sign for Fenerbahçe—I can reveal the identity of at least one target.
It is none other than Mateus Fernandes, or as my source calls him, “the lad from Southampton.” West Ham have already had one transfer bid rejected by the Saints, understood to be in the region of £30m.
But with rumoured interest from Nottingham Forest not materialising, perhaps there is still a chance for the Hammers to get a deal done?
As for the other two? I honestly have no idea, but ExWHUEmployee has mentioned Ngal’ayel Mukau in his update this morning, which probably just leaves one final mystery man.
As things stand, the club have said: “Judge us at the end of the window.” Everyone is watching very closely indeed.
