More Oklahoma State men's basketball nonconference games announced, including a Thanksgiving…

Year Two of the Steve Lutz era at Oklahoma State will begin in Gallagher-Iba Arena and a couple more games are officially on the calendar.

The Cowboys are set to host Oral Roberts on Nov. 4 in GIA, according to the Golden Eagles' schedule release on Monday. Oklahoma State also hosts Nicholls Nov. 22 and Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 29 according to those program's releases.

The latest announcement came Tuesday afternoon as Oklahoma State announced a home-and-home series with Northwestern. The Cowboys will travel to Chicago to play in the United Center on Thanksgiving and the two schools will play in the Paycom Center next season at a date to be later announced.

Oklahoma State and Northwestern have never played each other on the hardwood.

"We're looking forward to being part of a great college basketball atmosphere on Thanksgiving Day," Lutz said in a press release. . "Competing at the United Center against a strong opponent like Northwestern will be a valuable experience for our group as we gear up for Big 12 play. It will be a fun day of basketball!"

Oklahoma State is 21-5 against Oral Roberts all-time, winning the last six meetings. They played last December in Stillwater with the Cowboys defeating the Golden Eagles 86-74.

Oral Roberts now has a former Cowboy on the roster in guard Connor Dow. The former three-star transferred to Oral Roberts this offseason after two years in Stillwater.

Nicholls and Oklahoma State have played just once when the Cowboys won 76-56 in November 2010.

The complete Oklahoma State nonconference schedule should be released soon, but a handful of games have already been revealed. The Cowboys host Texas A&M on Nov. 9 and USF on Nov. 19.

They'll play neutral games against Grand Canyon in Phoenix on Dec. 6 and will face Oklahoma in the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on Dec. 13.

The Big 12 has yet to announce times and dates for conference games, but they announced opponents and locations. Oklahoma State will play Baylor, BYU, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia once at home. They're on the road for Arizona, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Colorado, Texas Tech and Utah. And they play Iowa State, TCU and Cincinnati twice this season.

Oklahoma State's roster looks completely different from a year ago as they added several pieces from the transfer portal and three incoming true freshman.

"We were trying to be cognizant with addressing some of our scoring issues from last year's team and not having that this year," Lutz said in June. "So every player that was recruited here was told the same thing. That we're not promising you anything. That the best players will play and those that can help us achieve the goals of winning the Big 12 and going to the NCAA tournament, they're going to play."

The Cowboys went 17-18 last year in the first year of the Steve Lutz era. They made it to the third round of the NIT after posting a 7-13 record in Big 12 play.
