Wood & Sels named in Team of the Season

Duo enioyed oustanding 2024/25 campaigns for the Club

Nottingham Forest duo Matz Sels and Chris Wood have both been named in the PFA Team of the Year following outstanding 2024/25 campaigns in Garibaldi.

Wood made Club history last season when he became our all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League, surpassing the previous record held by Bryan Roy, when he netted the third goal of our 3-2 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford in December.

In total, the New Zealand international hit the back of the net 20 times in Forest colours, becoming only the second player in our history to do so after Stan Collymore in 1994/95.

The 33-year-old was also named Premier League Player of the Month for October.

At the other end of the field, Matz Sels became the first goalkeeper in the Club’s history to claim the prestigious Golden Glove award after keeping 13 clean sheets from 38 Premier League matches last season.

The Belgium international played every minute of the campaign and was nominated for the Premier League’s Save of the Month award on no fewer than four occasions.

He was nominated for the distinguished 2025 Yachine Award which is awarded to the best performing goalkeeper in world football just two weeks ago.

All at the Club are delighted for Chris and Matz and send their congratulations to the Forest duo.
