Sources: Man City progressing in talks over 'world-class' player as replacement for wantaway…

Manchester City News can exclusively confirm the latest developments around Gianluigi Donnarumma and Ederson.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma in recent weeks amid Ederson’s increasingly uncertain future at the Etihad.

PSG have been unable to agree a new deal with Donnarumma, whose contract expires next summer, and they have frozen the goalkeeper out.

This has led to the Italy international’s camp looking for a new destination for their client, and Man City are firmly in the picture.

GRV Media’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has also shared what message Ederson has sent City on the subject of his future.

Meanwhile, talks between City and Donnarumma are progressing, and the Citizens have intensified their interest in him further.

“The deal with Galatasaray is edging closer, from what I am told,” Bailey exclusively told Manchester City News.

“Gala are doing their due diligence on others – they have looked into Diogo Costa and Yann Sommer too, but Ederson is their first choice.

“Ederson has made it clear he wants to move to Istanbul, and City are listening.

“Gianluigi Donnarumma talks are taking place with City, they are looking seriously at this now.”

What Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent has said about potential Premier League move

Enzo Raiola, Donnarumma’s agent, recently suggested that his client could join Man City by naming the Premier League as a potential next destination.

More recently, Raiola said Donnarumma – who has been deemed “beyond world-class” – would like to play in the Premier League from an aspirational point of view.

“After being in Italy and at PSG, the Premier League could give you that next step up because you’d be playing in the best league in the world,” said Raiola.

“The Premier League step is being considered because we believe it could be the right fit for an important player like Gigio.”

Should everything go to plan, Ederson will leave and Donnarumma will replace the £34million man to compete with James Trafford between the City sticks.
