It’s a slightly worrying start for Everton in the Premier League, and now it’s up to The Friedkin Group to make some big decisions.
On Monday night, it’s fair to say that Leeds United dominated the first half against Everton.
There was a little fight back from the Toffees in the second half, as fans were impressed with Jack Grealish.
But ultimately it came down to a dubious penalty decision which won the game for the West Yorkshire side, leaving David Moyes scratching his head.
The pain goes on, as one record achieved by Rafa Benitez still remains untouched after so many years.

Rafa Benitez is the last Everton manager to win a game in August
After an underwhelming opener, the season is still young, but there isn’t much time to achieve something not done for four years.
This is that Everton haven’t won a Premier League game in this month since 28 August 2021, under Benitez, after a 2-0 win against Brighton.
Won 0
Drawn 3
Lost 9
Everton’s August record in Premier League since 2-0 win over Brighton in 2021
It’s quite astonishing to see, but both Sean Dyche and Frank Lampard couldn’t achieve this feat, and so far Moyes has failed at his first attempt, with some tricky fixtures awaiting this month.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
James Tarkowski expects two more signings to help end this torrid run, but the owners must act quickly.
The Friedkin Group must bring more additions to Everton before the end of August
The time to act for The Friedkins is now, as not only do the Toffees need to start winning games, but this record is beginning to get humiliating.
Everton’s lineup on Monday doesn’t reflect a Premier League-ready team, as there are many areas that can be picked out that raise uncertainty.
Looking at this doesn’t reflect too well on the first day, as a makeshift back four shows defensive signings are needed, and the fact that possible loan exit Tim Iroegbunam is starting says it all.
Beto also didn’t look up to speed, and the only positive was really Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s excellent running throughout.
By Sunday, there has to be at least another new addition; otherwise, this record doesn’t look like breaking anytime soon, as the Toffees don’t want to fall into the trap of leaving remaining transfers till deadline day on September 1.
